Guys, what would make you put a woman in the "friend zone" (dating, girlfriend)

Speaking from experience, I spent most of my 20s in this not -very-enviable position: the "friend zone". It made me think that maybe men in their 20s have very bad taste in women or maybe because I've never been the type to "put out" early on. I went all through college and was dateless for a majority of the time. My fiance is genuinely surprised that I was never "claimed" at a young age (so he's the lucky one )
I know men talk about this situation when it concerns them, so I thought I'd ask the board why men might put certain women in that category?
In lieu of the subject, there is a program for men called "From Friend To Girlfriend" I don't know who the "author" is, but apparently this is a real problem for some guys out there...Any feedback is appreciated!

This is a hard question to quantify, at least for me. There are many things.

I think if she is arrogant or stuck up, that is a real turn off for me.

Somebody like that wouldn't make it into the friend zone. A woman (or man) with these characteristics would be in the nothing-to-me zone.
