I figured I'd already lost five years investing them in somebody, it would be crazy to let his actions even tangentally suck up any more of my time. Cut down on the wound-licking time substantially.

I needed time to sit down and reevaluate myself. I just had no desire to go out and meet anyone, this lasted about 6 months.

It was a long time ago but I was burned badly by my first love after almost 3 years together. Destroyed. I took about a year to hang with my friends and mess around before I met my wife and true love. I would probably have seriously dated someone sooner if I could have but I had to stick to a string of dates, which was fun in itself.

I've taken time to heal and regroup between relationships, even the ones that hurt when they ended. But time heals. Everything fades.
