For me, crushing on a gay guy is like having a celebrity crush. Unattainable eye candy.

For example, I think my gay coworker is adorable. A friend of a friend has a really cute hipster boyfriend. These guys aren't my type, they are a blast to hang out with and I am not attracted to them, but I can appreciate their "beauty" if you will.

I think the premise of this thread is pretty baseless, but when I hang out in the gay neighborhood people do seem to dress a lot better, and I am attracted to sharp dressers. At least in terms of enjoying checking them out!

And how is it always known? That's my point. Gaydar only goes so far, as Pete Townsend can probably tell you. Even so, Ricky Martin's open homosexuality is not stopping very many women from salivating over him. It's not like, "Oh, he's gay. He's not hot anymore."

LOL! I still think Ricky Martin is hot.

My mom always liked George Michael. She always says, "it is a shame he is gay. All the cute ones are gay!"

Well I never stated that it was always known. I am saying that for KNOWN gay men. I cannot comment on a guy that I have no idea if he is gay or not. I wouldn't even know what category he fell into. I mean, I don't meet men, think they are hot, and then find out they are gay. Okay? That has never happened to me. Not saying it couldn't, but it has not. The topic is about the attractiveness of gay men, to straight women. So that is what I am speaking of. GAY men, that I know are gay, and whether they are typically attractive to straight women.

I had a crush on a guy in high school who I think is gay now, but I didn't realize it at the time. I can't recall being attracted to any gay men who I knew in real life and knew they were gay.

My mom had a "crush" on one of my high school classmates. At my reunion I found out he was a gay porn star. Mom was crushed.

When I was in high school men did not come out. I can think of a few guys I knew who are now gay but we're pretty aggressive with girls in high school. I also remember a bisexual guy in college who was cleaning up on both sides!

My high school was pretty liberal and lots of people turned out to be gay. They may have even been out back then, but I was a loner and out of the loop, so maybe that's why I didn't find out until later.

Are they more likely to date gay men? and have a relationship with them
What are you basing this observation on? personal experience?

Because I have definitely not found this to be the case. Sure, there are some good-looking gay guys out there that a straight woman will find attractive, but overall I have found straight women to be overwhelmingly attracted to straight guys.

Because, well, that's why they're straight.

Oh, how I wish this was true.

There are still lots of gay men out there in denial who have relationships with women.
