Everywhere on the internet you find these blogs from men, who claim that women have a hard time dating once they turn 35 and are invisible to men after the age of 40.

So, women, what are your experiences? I mean, women who lived from 30 up to age 40, at least. Did dating became harder for you, just because of your age, even if you stayed in shape and took care of your looks?

Did you have a hard time finding a man later in life or, worse, have you finally settled just out of desperation? I'm really curious!

Well as a 30 year old man ( 31 on Friday ) I personally think there is nothing sexier than a mature lady,

With that in mind I'd be very surprised if it did slowdown for woman in that respect.

As for men on blogs/forums unfortunately there are one or 2 mugs amongst us so.......... I'd take that with a pinch of salt to be honest

I believe, dating does get harder for women as they age (not because of their looks or can't find someone to date) but rather they become more wiser/pickier when choosing the right man. There's also that phenomenon, men their age are typically looking for younger women. Of course, this is just my observation.

I find it's hard to make friends as you age, never mind dating.

Let's see....the last time I had a profile on a dating site the ONLY "guys" who contacted me were AT LEAST 10 years older than me. ....nope...not gonna do it. Luckily I found a guy IRL who's 7 years younger than me...

Good point about the wiser part mate

And with the men chasing young birds, however " there's no better compliment than a younger man " I've heard lots of women say before so ........

I met my now ex-husband when I was 19, married him when I was 21, divorced him when I was 39. I did not start dating until I was 40. So while I don't have much to compare it with (does high school really count?), I would not say that I found dating hard.

Finding someone you really click with on more than a superficial level is hard. I suspect that is true at every age.

I'm 56 and I'm not going to settle out of desperation. But yes it is harder--men are gunshy at this age and most of the time on POF they don't even look at my profile, much less message me, but I do get enough to have a decent dating life. Yes, many men would rather date younger but that doesn't mean they can so I know plenty of women my age who can get dates if they keep up with themselves and stay young at heart and wear clothes that don't make them look like someone's grandma, even if they are.

This is true for both men and women, especially after 40.

I'm not a woman so I can't say for them, but I think each sex has it's own set of issues around dating, and getting older might be harder for men too, I don't know as I'm not out in the dating world.

I wonder if this thread is a ruse just to rag on the old girls????
