What I mean is that you're open to an LDR but only if they move to you. What if you meet someone who is LD and you really hit it off, but they don't want to live in a population of 100? Are you going to be willing to move, or meet halfway?
I guess we'll find out if that happens.
Living someplace with a population of 100 is not an undesirable living situation in Alaska. So yes, a lot of people would want to live here.
I live north of Fairbanks and my "town" (which is not actually a town, but a CDP, a Census Designated Place) has maybe around a hundred people.
I never said I wasn't willing to compromise. Don't put words in my mouth. I just said above that I had not previously considered a LDR but that I now would. There are excellent job and lifestyle opportunities here for people who like to be outdoors. If a guy doesn't like to be outside, we're not going to get along anyways.
I have absolutely nothing of value to contribute to the discussion, but this just boggles my mind. Not in a bad way, just fascinating. There are nearly 1000 people just on my street, but the solitude of the wilderness is my dream.
I realize that most of you are probably urban and suburban dwellers, with a few rural folks tossed in here and there for flavor. As such, I'm not sure that I'm capturing any sort of a target audience but what the heck, I'll ask anyways. How about some brainstorming on how to date in a fairly extreme rural environment?
Please don't suggest I move. That's not happening. I love it here.

Ok, i am curious. In an area with 100 people, what kind of "excellent" job opportunities could there be? Being serious here, not being smart. I can't imagine in such a rural area there could possibly be many jobs at all, let alone excellent jobs.
As far as how to date, meet someone online, skype each other and if you click, try and attract him up there.

Only thing that comes to mind, and it would fit places like AK, are jobs in the natural resources (forestry, geology, etc)... often they can be lucrative and in remote places. That or something akin like guide services. Or a medical person or teacher taking up one of the programs to work in an undeserved area in exchange for the government to forgive student loans.
