I don't think I would care what he's driving, so long as it's clean. if I get into his vehicle, and it's seems so gross inside I don't want to touch anything, that will be a quicker deal-breaker. lol My brother's like that. I hated going anywhere with him.
Well, I do think your vehicle can give a person hints into your lifestyle.
If you picked me up for a date in a pickup truck, I might think that you are handy with tools, or a sportsman. Also, I would think that it's probably your only vehicle.
If you picked me up in a mini-van, I would think that you are probably a parent of 2 or more children.
If your car was dirty, it would turn me off. If you drove recklessly or aggressively, I would regret getting into the vehicle with you and won't do it again.
Btw- I am buying because I have to. Not because I want to. The old one die and it's time. Initially I wanted to get a Saturn view because I find it comfortable, but it's too expensive. Also wouldn't mind getting one of those vans you could even sleep in...so roomy...and if you ever lose your apt / housing you got a place to stay. But again too expensive. I'm leaning twoard semi-truck because I always wanted one, but it feels so impractical...gas eater? I was thinking super small car, but I hate the idea of any kind of crash in those things. It's like being on a damn bike. Crossover seems the best.
Edit: I was thinking pre-owned at first, but I don't like the idea of a previous owner so I got to go new. I'm also not really that knowledge about cars so would rather the piece of mind of one fresh off the line...
It's a highly personal decision. Factor in your needs, your ability to maintain it, your weather and driving conditions, and your budget. Then go test drive several to find one that feels right.

This, but I'd also add to not do the thing that some guys do and buy a huge car/truck for no other reason than to have a huge car/truck. If you need a big vehicle, great, but it doesn't make you more of a man to have one.
