My wife had an oophorectomy 3 years into our marriage. An oophorectomy, for those who dont know, is when they take out the uterus and both ovaries. I know that it was necessary to do this because she had endometriosis as well. That I completely understand. Sex was nonexistent. I know, not her fault, but us husbands still have the normal libido as always, wich is very high. I have been understanding for 33 yrs. but it is getting very tough not to cheat. I dont want to cheat but I dont want to have my balls cut off to not feel that way either. I know their is no answer to this except to use my right hand. I just had to vent. Thanks for listening and if you have any comments, that would be nice.

Excuse , but I believe an oophorectomy only removes the ovaries.
Hysterectomy perhaps?

One of the benefits of being a long-term couple is (supposed to be) emotional intimacy, where you are able to face and work on problems like this together.

Theoretically, she is sympathetic to your frustration and wants to figure out a way to help lessen it. There are multiple couples therapy options to do that.

Does she acknowledge your frustration about a lack of sex? Is she open to the idea of working on it or not?

Correct. Sounds like she had both procedures done.

That aside, the issue of no sex for 33 years...OP is either very naive, or just into storytelling.

I am basically retired and I tend to think about wanting to have a closer relationship with her.
