I am curious about something. I understand that strictly speaking a female that is not an adult are referred to as a girl whereas an adult female is referred to as a woman. Yet there seems to be quite a bit of over lap. Even if they are adult females if a bunch of them go out it's called a "girls night out" for example, or if they are collectively into something they can be referred to as "the x girls" heck, even when they are much older you have shows such as "the golden girls" etc etc. Even other adult females view such differently.
I started a thread about his about six months ago and got my azz handed to me. Don't call women girls because at least half of them won't like it, that was the gist of my experience, even if you mean it as well intentioned as you can be, the feminanzi brigade comes out. LOL.
I am not looking to pick a fight. I just was curious considering that is certainly common. Same as calling an adult male a boyfriend or women that refer to a group of adult males as boys.
In other words, don't try to figure it out. It's one of the most unnecessarily complicated PC issues there is to which there are reactions all the way from "Shrug" to outrage..

And you don't think there are any other inconsistencies in language or culture that most people seem to navigate easily with no issue? Stop being so obtuse / disingenuous and I'm sure you'll figure it out.
