No, we didn't kiss. But we did cuddle/spoon for awhile. She initiated that. I like to wait until maybe the second date so it doesn't appear I'm trying to rush anything. My last 2 marriages were rushed. I don't want to make that mistake again.
Oh good. Thank you for the advice. I'm really hoping I'm just over thinking this.
Don't forget the "one hotel room, one bed" part. Surprised me too.
She is sexy and beautiful in every way. It was hard...err difficult to not make the move. But like I said I didn't want her to think all I wanted was sex. She is an amazing good hearted sweet woman.

Let's see, your first date is in Hawaii sharing a room with a woman you're attracted to and you don't even kiss? Then to top it off you blubber "I want to spend the rest of my life with you" before parting. Now you're wondering if there's anything you might have done to screw it up. Yup, you certainly did.
I"ve been on some first dates that turned into a day-long event, but I'm still trying to figure out how a first date turns into a trip to Hawaii. Like, "this is going well, how do you feel about spending $1000 on a plane ticket?"
Here's the situation :
A 40 yr old guy and girl, same age, attracted to eachother for a few months finally have their first date that turns into a weekend getaway in Hawaii. Everything goes great for both of them and they like eachother a lot. They agree to start off as friends and see where it goes. While in Hawaii, they share one hotel room with one bed. Nothing sexual happens.
The couple returns home to the mainland. Before they look for their cars at the airport, they embrace and say their goodbyes, until they can get together again. Both are upbeat and positive about their time together. During this time here, what are some things the guy can say to make the girl leery about seeing him again?
I'm sorry, this is already in friend zone...you took her on a weekend away on a first date, to Hawaii no less, and she said "let;s just be friends for now"? She's not into you, I'm sorry. That was, IMO way too much, too soon. I don't think she's attracted to you or she would have wanted to be physical on a trip to Hawaii. Did you at least make out? NOTHING sexual? That's friend zone.

Good catch, I had read the OP earlier and forgot about that part.
No way I'm taking a trip to Hawaii with a girl that just wants to be friends. In fact, I wouldn't even hang out with a girl that I liked, if she only wanted to be friends.
At least he's a rock star though, so hopefully he didn't drain his bank account on that one!
