Who cares. Her feelings don't matter. What matters is his peace of mind. A woman's feelings are not sacred, it's ok to hurt a woman's feelings if there's a good reason, and in this case, there is. Many men are raising kids that are not theirs. That's not right. A decent woman will understand that a man needs peace of mind. Men don't have the luxury of being 100% sure that a kid is theirs, and a DNA test can easily settle the matter. It's surprising how many seemingly nice women are keeping secrets. Again, women's feelings are not sacred. Women are not sacred creatures. It isn't a sin to hurt a woman's feelings. But it is very wrong to deceive a man. Also, trust has to be earned.
You're looking for someone else to take responsibility for a test that isn't essential for the health and welfare of the child. Provide the samples to an independent lab and pay for it yourself if you have any doubts about paternity. A basic paternity test kit, which you can order on-line, starts at $30. If you want something that will hold up in court, expect to pay $300-500.
I think DNA tests should automatically be done whenever a kid is born, so that the guy knows for sure that it is his, and he can have peace of mind. Not to mention if there's ever an issue that requires a donor.
Most new fathers already have peace of mind. The few that don't can ask for DNA tests, sure.
Why do you choose to blindly carry on believing that there aren't that many women who do this, even though you have the internet at your fingertips so you can find out for yourself?
You're talking in circles, now. You asked LC why he doesn't believe the statistics, and why he goes more by personal experience or that of his family or social circle. So he chose to give you some credence; he said, OK, show me the stats. But you're deflecting now, in your response to his request.
It sounds like you have no stats; you're posting simply from personal bias. That's how you come across. If that's not the case and you DO have stats, it's time to demonstrate that, and back up your statement.
