I know the audience I'm about to ask this question to may be the wrong one...meaning analytical, but I will ask. Have any of you ever experience some sort of telepathy with another that you are extremely close to. I use the term soulmate to invite anyone with whom you feel a profound connection with across time distance and space. Dreams? Visions? Sounds? A pull?
All experiences and opinions are welcome. I'm excited to hear all about it!
That sounds like a romantic notion, but I guess, like you said, I'm probably too analytical to really believe people can do that. That said, there have been times my boyfriend and I have thought the same thing at the same time, or used similar words. It's because we know each other so well and for the past 6 years we've shared so many experiences that our thinking started to align somewhat. It's a unique feeling when you and your significant other/spouse hear or see something, and you can look at each other and know exactly what the other is thinking at the time without saying a word. Often it's some inside joke, but still. While I don't find that supernatural, it's hard to argue that it's a neat development when you are in a long-term relationship.
My husband and I are both analytical, though he's more of a skeptic than I. We're both romantics at heart and I like to entertain the concept of kismet and a deep connection, being extremely in sync, that it inspires shared thoughts. Pretty much everyday we'll finish each other's sentence or know what the other is thinking or going to say. He says it just means we're very intuitive and know each other super well, but part of me likes to believe we can read each other's thoughts. (Hey, I wouldn't mind having super powers or abilities.) Just a few days ago we were thinking the same thing at the same time. We both laughed when we said it. It happens so often that the details and specifics blur together. It's a long-running inside joke.
I'd like to have Prof. X's or Jean Grey's abilities, but it's unlikely.
I am very analytical and did experience a very vivid dream once about an ex that I had not seen for 15 years. In the dream he told me that he still loved me. It was a very strange dream. Three months later he did contact me completely out of the blue. It was really odd.
You do to some extent. Yet you can not really ever know what the other is entirely thinking.
