There are alpha males who are the strong silent secure types and the pretend alpha males who are insecure deep down but cover it up by trying to be alpha.

I think there is some confusion about what an alpha male is. An alpha male is a decisive leader. Leaders don't dominate. That's a bully. Leadership is decisively expressing a course of action and then building a consensus for it. It's not rope, duct tape, and wire ties.
Do you prefer that your husband or boyfriend be alpha rather than beta? If so, do you prefer he only be that way in bed, or in general?
