I went parking our car and left my wife shopping in a shoe store. When I returned to the store 20 minutes later, I sensed that the shop owner, who was a White guy in his mid-40s, was flirting with my wife. Probably he didn't realize that my wife is at least 10 years older than he is.

I guess many White guys cannot tell the exact age of Asian girls, especially those of East Asia origin.
He probably just liked her because she looked different, her age probably wasn't really relevant and didn't matter.

If all you ever ate was white bread you wouldn't mind trying a slice of rice bread either.

I belive so but it's not just Asian women that age well it all depends on the persons genetics, if they don't smoke much or drink etc.

I look good for my age. I still look like I'm in my early 20's from what I've been told. I went through most of my twenties without drinking any alcohol. I don't smoke, I'm not into the whole getting a sun tan etc. I only started drinking since last year. Now I find that I like some cocktails and just a little bit of wine here and there but nothing to crazy. There's nothing wrong if someone likes to drink a lot or smoke but it all depends on how a person takes care of themselves.

I have been told this many times... Certain groups do seem to age well. I am in my 40s and most people guess mid 30s.

In my observation, Korean, Brazilian, and those that trace lineage to Polynesian.

For men, I think in our culture we are used to seeing male pattern baldness.... And judge age against it. In certain groups men seem to bald or thin much later in age.

Of course not all Asian girls age well. Those brought up in North America do not age as well as those brought up in East Asia. I guess it is related to diet.

Asian girls in Hawaii generally don't age well. That is because of the constant sunshine.

Why are we talking about race-related aging in the Relationships forum?

My Filipino secretary, who is in her mid-60s, talks about she is the "girl friend" of somebody I know. I guess at least in Hawaii, or maybe in the entire country, there is a liberal usage of "girl" regardless of age.

By the way, most people think my wife is in her mid-40s.

I don't think it's gender related, it just has to do with the culture and environment they're brought up in.

Certain parts of the US have more fat people than other parts of the US for example.

If you've lived in Hawaii most of your life you would notice it if you traveled to certain parts of the US. Hawaii has a lot of healthy people in general.

Weight is one of the biggest things that effects how old you look.

50 year olds are women or men. Not girls or boys.

Yes. Very different context than saying "girlfriend" or boyfriend."

Calling your middle-aged wife an "Asian girl" has a tinge of fetishism in it.

It's true. After I lost 50 lbs I looked much older.
