When someone says "feeling in love" with John or "feeling in love" with Jane. What does that mean? Is this another way of saying that you are in love with that person? How do you interpret this expression?

Well, I hadn't heard it ever until recently. Just wondering what it means.

I've never heard of "feeling in love" either.

It sounds like a non-native English speaker mixing up words. They obviously mean "feelings of love", i.e. towards somebody, or "being in love", the pronunciation of which sounds similar to many non-native speakers.

Sounds plausible.

Never heard that either. Do you mean "falling in love"?

Feeling in love sounds a like a big step down from BEING in love. Makes it sound like a very temporary infatuation or just a fake version of the real thing. I would not be impressed...just sounds tentative as if they don't even know for sure what exactly they're feeling.

No I don't mean falling in love. The person actually said "feeling in love."

Ask them what they mean. Simple.

Thank you. This is actually the vibe I got when I first heard this expression and I'm pretty sure the person did not mix up "feeling in love" with "falling in love."
