As a child, I used to be very "girly" & also had lots of similar female friends during my teens & 20s. But starting in my 30s & 40s, I somehow got more male friends (platonic), probably from playing tennis w/ them & being a sports fan, and lost most of my female friends.
Then after a while, from hanging out w/ my boyfriend & with male platonic friends, got used to joking around & talking more freely w/ "locker room talk"-- so I started seeing puzzled looks from women when I was around them! Oh well, think it's good to have a balance of "female" & "male" characteristics, for both men & women...
And it's funny how the more things change, the more they stay the same... Humorous 1920s song "Masculine Women! Feminine Men!" from 91 yrs ago
I had to tell this one chick to woman up. She was super intelligent, cute and cool as hell, but was a lil too dude like. She's was more like one of the guys without the feminine side. I like a strong woman, but I want a woman to be a woman though.
I grew up in an all female household. So men have always been seen as mysterious, foreign creatures from another planet, in my opinion.
I'm "girly" as can be but I can take care of myself. If someone said that I acted "like a man", I would probably take it as an insult, to be honest. Even if they meant it as a compliment, it is dissing womanly behavior, no?

No! All women are not the same. To infer that they are anything but unique individuals would be an insult. A woman can, in some respects, think and act "like a man" yet remain totally feminine.
I'm celebrating tonight and drinking. I can't hold my liquor, so forgive me. Oh dear, I think I might be drunk actually. I can feel my IQ dropping by the second. Explain it to me like you would explain it to a child. Please. Thank you.
I don't think there is such a thing as 'thinking like a man'. One just thinks 'as a person' whether male or female.
