I've known this girl for almost a year, but we've never been close. I recently moved out of the state for university and she's in her senior year of high school. When we were both in high school, I had a little crush on her but I never asked her out because she was a year younger than me.
Even though I never labelled it as a date, we still hung out a few times. She asked me to tutor her once, and another time we went on a bike ride. Every time I would always feel that she was expecting me to tell her that I liked her, or go further than just a platonic hangout. But I wouldn't tell her I liked her, because a) I was kind of nervous to, and b) because I couldn't get over the fact that she was younger than me, and c) because I was unsure if she liked me back.
However, after going to university I realized that I miss her, and that the age difference shouldn't bother me. Now here comes the part that I need help with: I went to a party a few weeks ago and got really drunk. I drunk called her twice but she didn't pick up. Then when I woke up in the morning I saw that she'd called me back and texted me asking what happened. We talked for that day, and then I told her that 'we should meet up when I'm back in town'. She said sure, but we didn't continue on the conversation after that.
MY QUESTION IS: does she want me to ask her out? Sometimes she's been cold and distant to me, but sometimes she's been super friendly. What do you guys think?
Ask her out while you’re home for the holidays but be prepared to let it go when you return to school.
