It was recently suggested to me that I put my profile back on some dating sites even though I have told folks I would rather meet someone the old fashioned way. In the past year I have been on plenty of fish, ok Cupid, and Tinder but I almost never get matches or responses even though people in real life say I’m good looking. I was only on each of these sites for 2-3 months. Would you give up after that amount of time? I probably sent out 30 messages each on POF and ok Cupid.

2-3 months is nothing. 2-3 years isn't much.

I don't believe in quitting. If something is important to me, I keep trying. It took about 10 years to get a stable job in the field I wanted after grad school, and a life partner is a much bigger challenge to find than a job.

Okcupid has went to swipe and match first like tinder.

I use for about a week before I deactivate. Just too time consuming.

It's definitely a bit of a game that you need to learn how to play, but even then the odds aren't in your favor. Good luck.

30? Some send that many in one week...some in one day.
It's a game of odds...up yours.

Usually I’ll leave a profile up for 3-6 months before I say it and give up.

Timberline, we all know how fantastically successful you are with women. You've made it clear often enough.
Other poor guys just have to try harder.

I started online dating in 2004 and I’m still doing it. I’ve also been seeing several of the same guys on dating sites during that 14 year period. No, I wasn’t on the sites continuously so I won’t assume that they were either, but they’ve obviously been using it for more than a few months.
