So I have a lady friend that I wouldn't mind making more than just a friend. Anyway, I know for a fact she is single. However, every-time I converse with her she always mentions that her "guy friend" "friend who is a guy" or "girl friend" was over at her apartment instead of just her "friend." Does that seem a bit odd to keep mentioning the gender of her friend, instead of just saying her friend? Or am I over thinking this way too much?

Yes, you're overthinking this for some reason.

Maybe she likes you too and is making sure you know that they guy who was over at her place is "just a friend."

Granted that's what I'm hoping, but you never know. I just find it odd that she made it a point to mention that he or she was "just a friend" who was visiting.

Next time she does this why not ask her if she would like to call you her *boyfriend*.

I honestly don't talk to her that much. So this is the first time any of this ever came up in conversation.

Good God, do not do this.

Stop thinking and freaking act. If you like this woman, ask her out. It's not hard. Just do it.

Once again, a common scenario unfolds on this section of the forum, someone interested in another on a more than casual friend basis, but doesn't act on it and would rather admire from afar and try to play it safe.

The OP could be proactive and try to see once and for all if she has any interest in being a true girlfriend, instead of wondering over and over in his mind if she likes him. Sure, it's not easy, but who said life is easy? Better to get that out of the way than stretch out something that may have existed only in your own mind. Nice guys always finish dead last in the game of love.
