A woman I was speaking to asked me for advice on this one. I will paraphrase her:

"I'm a 35 year old woman. I have been single for ages... nearly seven years in fact. I go out with my girlfriends and the good looking guys don't talk to me. I just get a bunch of ugly guys coming over and acting cool. Why on earth do the Uglies want to flirt with me? What am I doing wrong?"

She is relatively pretty and dresses quite well. So what would you tell her?

Stop acting like a wallflower and go get what you want. Why does she have to sit there like a princess? If she has that attitude, she probably is giving off the vibe too, which = turnoff.

I agree with Pitt. Maybe she looks like a b*tch. She might not be one, but it can be enough to look like one. I can have the b*tchface if I am feeling serious, so I have to make my face more open and pleasant. And if this chick is really calling those guys "Uglies," maybe she is a b*tch. Is she sitting at the bar, waiting for men to approach her? Does she looked ticked off or desperate?

From what I hear, men don't like to approach women in packs anyway.

"Ugly" guys are allowed to flirt and approach women too...

Sounds like that woman is a stuck up cow and needs to start thinking herself a little less above everyone else. Strange as this may sound but "ugly" guys need a chance . I'll take an ugly guy over a pretentious person any day. There are very, very few "ugly" people in this world IMO, and even those should have a chance for happiness, love and companionship.

Sounds to me more like the problem is the woman not the guys... A serious attitude problem. Time to re-assess some her "values" and become a little less snobby.

Maybe it's not that she's attracting these guys but it's the fact that this kind of guy is often the most desperate and feels he has nothing to lose.

Attractive, successful guys often don't feel the need to approach every woman who appears unattached, but would rather sit back and choose selectively.

She just needs to make herself less available in this kind of situation.

She needs to either:

- Seek out, rather than be sought after
- See how her demeanour may affect her
