Bummer.
Very sorry to hear of this mate you have my deepest condolences.

I have an 11 year old dog. I have two actually, and I love them both, but one seems to have direct access to my heart. Even at 11 he is still pretty hyper, but when he is in the car with me he's, almost serene. He often lays his head on my leg and breathes in a soft, slow, hypnotic hum. When I become aware of this I notice that I'm breathing with him. Then he'll raise his head and look at me with this soulful wisdom and I feel seen. Really, authentically seen. His mournful dog's eyes shimmer like a deep golden pool and I see myself, or really a far better version of me in his loving gaze.

I just dropped a couple hundred dollars on him at the vet, and what a bargain that is. But to be clear, I don't cry when I think of him at roughly my age now but racing past me toward......Nope. No tears.

Most recent time I shed a tear was the final episode of 'The Office'. Michael Scott ddelivered the most perfectly-timed 'That's what she said' ever.

I always have to wipe my eye at the end of Terminator 2, as well. The T-1000 saying goodbye to young John Connor--and the final 'thumbs up'--always gets to me, just the silent, powerful message that thumbs up sent, and the man (machine) it came from. Seriously, a very emotional scene for me.

My husband is not one to hold back emotions. He totally teared up during the teaser trailer for Star Wars Ep. 7. I did, too. He cries every time he watches It's a Wonderful Life, his favorite movie, and several other movies.

He was a mess of tears when we watched 13 Reasons Why. And, and... many other occasions. When we married, when our daughter was born, when she said Papa on his first Father's Day, when one of our cat's died suddenly.

The feels are strong with him.
