There is thread around here about attractive women being superficial. It made me think of the classic Ginger vs Mary Ann paradox.

Both were very beautiful, but their presentation and approach were completely different.

If your too young to remember Gilligan's Island, Ginger was the movie star - cast as a Marlyn Monroe type. Mary Ann was the quintessential girl next door - the farm girl from Kansas. While Ginger oozed sexuality, Mary Ann was much more subdued - but she was Rockin Daisy Dukes before Daisy Duke.

So, the question is: Which do you perfer and why? Ginger or Mary Ann?

Oh, my preferance is and always will be Mary Ann

As a kid, from the time I was 10, Mary Ann was the only reason I watched Gilligan's Island, and later the reruns, up until the time I was 17 or so.

To quote that mid-90s Budweiser commercial, "Ginger was a bimbo."

Mary Ann loved getting on all fours and barking like a dog in her visits to the Professor's grass hut. You always knew that Mary Ann was a secret slattern, ready to unleash her carnal powers at the drop of a hat. I'm fairly certain that Skipper weighed anchor on her, too.

I actually had a conversation with a writer for the Beverly Hillbillies (One of the great underrated shows of all time). According to him, Ellie Mae did everybody on the set, from the guy who played Jethro to the writers to the Best Boy and Gaffers.

Yeah, but you'd be earning every single dime, too.

By the way, doesn't anybody else thing Gilligan and Skipper kind of had a man-boy relationship thing going? I mean, Skipper always called Gilligan "Little Buddy," and Gilligan was always trying to jump on Skipper's back. Add the fact that Gilligan never took Ginger up on her frequent advances, and I think there was some cuddling going on in those rope hammocks.
