Your observations are likely correct. Most people (women & men) have less "guts" to go after what they want when younger. I think the fear of rejection is stronger. When you get older you start caring less. What's the worst outcome? You'll hear "not interested." Nothing wrong with trying if you're really into the person. I'm not gonna say it's the most successful approach for women, but sometimes it's worth a shot.

Not sure how far back you were pulling my comment from or if it was between gf's or early on in the dating of my current gf when things were looking to be over. I dated one gal from Nov-Feb and then another Mar-current which is going quite well now but I had my doubts early on and we almost split after the first 3-4 weeks.
