Very little in my neck of the woods. It's terribly common. 5 gals at work married/engaged in the last 3 months - all to fellas they met online.
I met mine on Yahoo five years ago. It's common among people I know also. In fact, I don't know any single people that haven't at least tried it or are presently involved with online dating. The only people I've met that question it or say something negative are people that have either never tried it or those that had bad experiences.
I would have never met my SO w/o it, so I'm happy!
I met my last two serious SO's on Yahoo Personals. I just found out today that two guys I work with met their wives on eharmony. I also know someone else who met her hubby on eharmony and another girl I worked with a few years ago met her husband on Yahoo Personals.
I'm still looking online, but have also joined a few social/activity groups.
My wife answered an online ad I placed on a Christian singles website. We corresponded, talked on the phone, then met several times. Were married about 2 years after first contact. She is now pregnant with our 6th child, due in January. Six kids in six years. Why wait?
Sounds like you might need a new hobby.
My spouse I met while dating her cousin. Cousin and I broke up and spouse emailed me. That was 10 years ago. Been married 8 years.
I met my husband online via a dating site. We were looking at rings about three months after we started dating and have been together about six years now.

My husband and I met via an old-fashioned newspaper personals ad back before online matchmaking sites even existed. We've been happily married for over a decade. We've both said that online matchmaking sites seem cool compared to the low tech method we used. We have a good friend who recently met and married her husband that she met through eHarmony.
