Cubans, at least the white ones, trace their heritage to Spain, with most of them having a link to the Canary Islands. Spaniards, Portuguese, Italians and Greeks are all a little bit darker than the mainline European, but still white.
You're right. Some of the black ones are part-Canary Islander too. At least I am.
When it comes to Cubans who are white or partially so, some are French, German, English, Portuguese and Lebanese as well.
Why are you so obsessed with this? You need to read my post history and see the dozens of responses I have made to you regarding this topic. "Anglos" do not have a monopoly on whiteness. People of Greek, Italian, Lebanese, Spanish, and French origin are "white" just as Anglo-Saxons are. You can repeat to me until you are blue in the face that "Anglo nowadays means non-Hispanic white," but I will repeat to you until I am blue in the face that being wrong in greater numbers doesn't make you any more right. It's pretty sad that you - a person of Polish and Italian origin - bend the definition of "Anglo" to include yourself just so you can juxtapose yourself - and a group of which you are really NOT part - against "Hispanics," even if the Hispanic person in question is of UNmixed European origin. It's a quite sad attempt to alienate Euro-Hispanics from the rest of the white population when in fact they are very well integrated and accepted by the rest of the white population. A full 1/5 - 1/4 of the white kids I knew growing up had one "Hispanic" parent. No one EVER, EVER, EVER mentioned the word "race" when a non-Hispanic white person and a white Hispanic person got married, started dating, etc. because the racial difference just didn't exist.
