Years ago when I was an MP in the Marine Core I got into heavy lifting, boxing, etc. I was not quite a pro-body builder, but darn close. Today, I'm still in decent shape, but a little soft around the edges. Not fat, but no more vein popping muscles, just a nice tone, fit body. My point? I could have ten times the women now, then ever back then. I'm happily married, so I'm not going there.
My conclusion, is women are attracted to other things then an overly muscular build. I never would have believed it when I was in my twenties, but looking back, I now see it is the truth. I think most women would even prefer a "teddy bear" type guy, then a sculpted vein bursting bodybuilder.

I am so not attracted to this look. In fact, I'm actually turned off by it. I had a similar conversation with a boyfriend once b'c two of his best friends were body builders--always walked around like a rooster and with their muscles tensed up. As soon as I or any woman would walk into the room, one of them would suddenly puff up like someone just blew air into his chest. I had to turn away to keep from laughing. Anyway, yeah, I asked my boyfriend if he planned on doing that. Thankfully, no, he didn't but before he said no, he was fishing to see if that's what I wanted. Yuck.
I personally do not find the big body building type guy attractive, actually I find them pretty gross. Don't get me wrong, I like a guy who is in shape. I think the Paul Walker type is perfect.
Agreed, well, maybe not Paul Walker, but over-muscles is not attractive at all.
I don't know if they've ever polled for this issue. However, I'd be willing to bet that no more than 10 or 15% of the women out there like the veined tree-trunk armed and legged weightlifter dude who puts on oil and poses for pictures. I've actually overheard quite a few "eeews" when women see that on the TV or on magazine racks. They seem to like guys who are in shape and not scrawny...that's my read.
