Are the words for condom and condiment similar? My high school voice teacher had a story about trying to say condiment or something and accidentally saying condom.

Not too much cross-over.
Condom = preservativo
Condiment, as in side dish = contorno

Here are the funny mix and match ones:
pena = sorrow, pity
pene = penis, in medical terms
penna = pen, to write with
penne = a type of pasta
