Amazing but true. Robin Gibbs, one of the Bee Gees.....

There are very few rules in his marriage, judging by all his talk of threesomes and cruising. But Robin Gibb managed to break one, all the same.
The Bee Gee, 59, has fathered a child with his live-in housekeeper, who is half his age. His wife Dwina is said to be infuriated by the birth even though the couple have an open relationship.
She has apparently thrown the housekeeper, Claire Yang, 33, out of the Gibbs' 12th century Oxfordshire mansion.

And my favorite quote from the writer ....

Quote:
Mrs Gibb, 56, a poet and playwright, had a strict Catholic upbringing in Kilskeery, Northern Ireland.
The former lover of a pornographic film director, David Waterfield, she has been a devotee of various religions and once proclaimed herself as a druid priestess.
In recent years she has been a member of a Hindu sect called the Daughters of Brahma, whose members are meant to be celibate.
A friend of the couple said: 'It's an incredibly unusual arrangement.
'At first Dwina was happy for Robin to sow his oats because it allowed her to stay committed to her Brahman beliefs, but she never expected him to actually plant his seed, as it were.

Quote:
The couple's lifestyle is unconventional even by the unorthodox morals of rock stars, with Gibb confessing in a radio interview in 1995 to having threesomes and 'cruising' for sex.
And speaking about their life together, Mrs Gibb has said: 'We have an open relationship. Robin has had flings in the past with friends of mine and he talks about them

Now I ain't one to judge, BUT, you must know you take huge risks when having open relationships. It takes a special person to a) trust you enough to let you be with other people and b) a special person to respect the boundaries, however loose they might be. This is an example of his wife giving him a foot and he took all the leg he could get.

WOW, whats the point in getting married.
I guess I have too many pre-conceived ideas about marriage to live through anything like that.

I have never shared well.

I remember reading an article that they did a study on all the different civilizations on all continents (Past and Present) and found out something like 99% of the time through out human history (with few exceptions) Monogamy relationships where always the norm

Makes you think doesn't it, all these civilizations in all different parts of the world came to the same conclusions. 1 man + 1 woman

People sometimes say monogamy is not natural. But it is. Through out human history before modern times they found out its the only one that really works

This article here is just more proof if you try to do it any other way it just doesn't work out

Shame because being a guy I can see there would be some advantages in 'Polygamy' in me having more than one wife

Exactly what is the point of being married if you have an open relationship? What are you committed to? Financially supporting the other person?
