I think its wrong. I think people should be married if they are living together. Its a form of adultry.
I think that if two people are living together outside of marriage, all sorts of problem could arise. I'm not judging people who do, but I think its a big mistake.
Both my brothers live with their SO. And neither are married...going on twenty and twenty-five year anniversary for both. It's what works for them. They also have half interest in each others home as well as business partners.
Many things are a sin, we as a human race aren't perfect. I called into work "sick" today; was I actually sick? No, but it's a little white lie that doesn't hurt anybody. I don't count that as a sin.
Totally agree ... each to their own. I'd rather be a sinner than stuck in a loveless marriage for the rest of my life since my "religion" believes in the sanctity of marriage and that divorce is not an option. Wow, I probably should have at least ten kids too, since contraception is a no, no as well.
But they're not joined in marriage in the eyes of God.
Thats a sin.
It's a sin only to people whose religious beliefs define it as such. Not all do.
I personally see nothing wrong with people living together "without benefit of marriage" (as the saying used to be!). In fact IMHO if things are handled sensibly there can be far less legal fallout resulting from a breakup of domestic partners than from spouses. My son lives with his girlfriend and my daughter lives with her boyfriend (they're in their early and late twenties, respectively) and I am far happier about that arrangement than I would be if either one married their current housemates.
Technically it is sin. Especially if they are having sexual relations and aren't married.
