If you don't get certain things under control you "could have" cancer?

"If" you get it, you won't have but a couple more years to live.

He will not test you again until November.

That sounds like more like a stop smoking campaign. If you don't quit, you could die from cancer that may kill you in two years.

I'm sorry this makes no sense to me. It sounds like you are creating big issues where there may be few.

That sounds more like acid reflux. How can your doctor tell you that you will probably get cancer from it and die within two years?

Yes its Acid Reflux. There is places that it has eaten into,he says it is very close to being Cancer and if it isn't under control it will run into Cancer which is very agressive and will kill me within a couple years and there is nothing they can do.

You need to find a new doctor...NOW!

Sounds like you may have Barretts and yes, there is surgery and treatment for this condition. Take your meds daily, be VERY careful about your diet and first thing Monday morning, find a new doctor.

This is a Specialist that my Doctor says is the best.My Doctor says she would not trust any other around here, she said she lost one patient to another Specialist.

I know of two people that this Guy has done surgery on.I'm concerned as to why he is against it on me,you know maybe he is not telling me everything.

I do know I'm in the shape I'm in because two Doctors brushed it off for years and didn't sugest changes and let me know how serious it was.

The internet is an invaluable tool for checking out specialists.

Check out some major hospitols near where you live. See who the heads of different departments are.

Start off by making an appointment with one of these specialists. Really.

I agree that you should get a second opinion. Your specialist may have been highly recommended by your doctor, but they may also have some kind of referral arrangement that you know nothing about and that could be why your doc praises him or her so highly. You never really know. Still, a second opinion can't hurt.

Also, there have been studies that have shown that a patient's mental outlook has a big affect on their health, so I would do everything possible to keep as positive as I could. Get some positive thinking or mental imagery for healing tapes or CDs and play them in your car. Watch movies and TV shows that make you laugh. Keep telling yourself over and over again that you have this thing under control and your throat is pink and healthy. Wear a rubber band on your wrist and every time you have a negative thought about your health, snap it hard. Take up yoga or meditation or some other thing that will teach you to relax and control your mind.

Next, I would investigate everything I could about what you have and what lifestyle changes you could make to control it or even get rid of it. Maybe your diet is too spicy or rich. It's not good to rely on medication to control a condition if you can control it or get rid of it with some simple lifestyle changes. Medications have their own dangers and side effects and some meds, if used long enough, actually begin to contribute more to the problems they are supposed to fix.
