I have two cousins with the same legal parents that aren't related to each other...or to me, technically.
Both were adopted by my aunt and uncle at different times. I still consider them my cousins, and I imagine they consider each other brother and sister. Though one took pains to emphasize that "we're not really related"...distancing himself from me and the rest of the family. Of course, alcoholism runs high on that side of the family.
