My husband and I shop together...always.

We sometimes do a quickie shop, other times a leisurely expedition making up glorious dinner menus along the way.

We top the shopping trip off with our favourite wine and a couple of movies.

How do you do that? Now that sounds like work to me...have to go home and unload all those groceries and then go out again...

You can't be leaving all those perishables in the car when you are at the movie theater?

WOW................

In most states, there's a winery in the market, and there's probably a Blockbuster on the way home from there.

How does the average couple decide what groceries to buy? Do they use two carts, or do they shop together and each throw things in the cart that interest them? Or does the husband or wife do all the grocery shopping?
Okay, I once happened to catch an Indian couple in the act. The wife was stacking the cart with stuff. And while she was at it, the hubby guy silently picked an expensive coffee pack and placed it back in the shelf.

The hubby and I made quick eye contact while he was at it. He pretended like he hadn't seen me and got on about it.

But I'm a b*****d. I picked the same coffee bag, handed it to the wife, it was like 13$, and said, "didi, this fell off your chart"

She was thankful to the fullest. And said, "this is my husband". We shook hands. His hand seemed to tell mine, "I want to amputate you"

True. It just sounded like for a minute there they ran over to the movie theater with groceries in tow.

You bring back fond memories to me. My college BF and his roommate were growing beards on their plates while living in a dorm. It didn't matter one bit at the time... It's a sign of getting old when you start caring about order and cleanliness too much.

We shop just like we do everything else - together. We do not do a "big shop" because I usually stop and get what is needed on my way home from work each night. We also buy our meat in bulk from local farmers. So when we do shop, we always do it together using one cart. The exception to this is when we have a big event dinner coming up that requires a lot of grocery shopping, my dh will usually do this while I am at work.

Before we go, we make a list of what we need and what is on sale.
At the store, we each get a basket and divide the list and go get the items.

We use our cell phones to communicate in the store and we meet several times to look at other deals and to compare stuff that we picked up that wasn't on the list.
