I'd like to be all PC and say yes, it's just a job but I'd be lying.

I did go out with one and I tried but I just couldn't get over what he did for a living.

At least I'm being honest.

I knew a guy who went into that line of work. He was actually a funny guy with a good sense of humor, nothing creepy about him. I think there is this misperception that funeral directors and morticians all run around with black capes and talk like Vincent Price. Most of the ones I've met at funerals seemed like cool people. Hey if nothing else you might be able to get a discount on caskets and funeral services, those things cost a small fortune you know.

I wouldn't date a obgyn or a proctologist though.

Doctors dissect dead bodies while they are in training. Some of them work with bodies between life and death.
People who perform autopsies.
Crime scene investigators.
Police.
Paramedics.
There may be some other professions that deal with the dead.

True, you are not going to work with him. Plus he will never take work home.

It wouldn't be a deal breaker I guess, but I would have a problem with it.

OT here but I just had to say, I used to work in a hospital (I'm a CMA) and I worked with, learned with and admired many nurses, some ER, some ICU/CCU, some trauma, but the ones I was in awe of was the ones who had to work with children. Those are some very special people to be able to do that job. I always prayed I'd never be floated to the children's ward and luckily, I never was. I'm not cut out for it. Went everywhere but there.

To answer the o/p, yes, I could date a mortician if he was someone I was interested in.
