I've had this conversation with my friends over and over again... Where have you met men/women to date? One friend says she will only date guys she meets at the gas station pumping gas; one will only date men who wear a uniform - of any kind; one only dates men that she meets at church; and one only dates women he meets at work or women he meets at bookstores.
I think you can meet quality people anywhere... just depends on what you are looking for.
I have meeting men off the internet for years now. The man of my dreams (Current SO) was met off a dating site. Funny thing to me is when people have their ideas about the quality or type of people you meet off the internet; it cracks me up because the absolutely craziest man I ever met and dated was not met off the internet, I met him in a laundrymat. He truned out to be apathological liar and stalked for 3 years after I dated him for 6 weeks (how long it took me to figure out his crazyness).
Let's see... I met my current SO at my old house, he was an ex boyfriend of one of my roommates. She was trying to 'rekindle an old flame' by bringing him around, but she's insane and he knew it. We started dating not long after.
I've met a guy off of the internet who was alright, but kind of judgemental (I didn't graduate from the right university so he ended it with me), met a guy at the movies, one at work (dated for 2 years) a few at car shows (mmm....greasers.....) and one at a tattoo parlor. The tattoo parlor guy was AWESOME but unfortunately moved to Australia .
I have never met anyone at a party or a wedding or at a bar - ever!
