Need a second Birthday gift idea for the BF (he is turning 63). I have until noon tomorrow to get one last gift in before I see him. Need something meaningful and nice. We're on the more serious track - only seeing each other, so nothing hokey or hoochie. I want it to be neat-o. Maybe I can run to Michael's to buy stuff and make something cool for him with my own hands. Not sure what though.

I bought him a laser keyboard since he travels so much:
ThinkGeek :: Bluetooth Laser Virtual Keyboard

As for the second one. . .

Homemade example: ideas like - get a nice jar with some [washed] rocks and on each rock, write something that I adore about him? Something like those type of ideas. But better!!! Something cute, sweet, not too huge - something that he hasn't received before. I plan to spend anywhere up to about $100 for it and have 24 hours to get it done.

With ALL of the very entertaining and creative minds here, I know I am coming to the right place!

Guys: I need to hear from you as well as the women. Please tell me what YOU would think would be cool to get that is homemade.

Thanks!

There was the coolest clock I found once that also had the temperature on it and the time for every major city around the world and it looked real nice too. I always thought the telescope was a good one too.

I could come up with a ton of things to make but they take more that 24 hours. I know how to poke holes in the top and bottom of eggs and blow out the insides, soak them in bleach and put something inside of them, spackle, sand and spray paint in gold. You'd never know something was in there or how it got there.

I have a bunch more like that but you need more time.

iPod with a playlist of songs you both like

Does he have those cool travel grooming kits from Sharper Image?

An shaving gel / aftershave cologne / lotion of your choosing, I it smells good to you.

I really appreciate a nice home cooked candle lit meal of my favorite dish, and snuggling afterward. How about you write something special to him, frame it and give it after such a meal? Something from the heart describing why you love him would make any man feel great. Poetry doesn't have to rhyme, it just needs to evoke emotion.

Just a thought :-)

Obviously he's into computers as you got him a virtual keyboard for when he travels.

Is he into the outdoors or reading? Not sure where you're located, but if he likes hiking or kayaking or canoeing or fishing, a guide book on trails to hike, or rivers/lakes to canoe or kayak.

Or a book on his favorite subject or by his favorite author.

Can you give us an idea on what he is into?

That is a great idea. The ones that are close to the size of a 5x7 are really nice.
