I had the opposite situation (but same problem for me, as a woman) in my graduate program... I went to school for library & information science, and the majority of my classmates were women, gay men or men over 50. How many young, straight male librarians do you encounter, especially in the Bay Area?
Not that I didn't enjoy their company, but it wasn't exactly a great place to meet dates! My friend who got a master's in nursing also had that problem, so I guess it just depends on what you're going to study.
Is it a field that's dominated by a certain gender, or one that appeals to both sexes equally? Either way, you should join some student organizations once you start... maybe the associated student's union, planning committees, religious group, theater productions, etc. Whatever floats your boat! Every school is different in how they separate grad from undergrad activities, but most have groups everyone can join. I didn't participate in much during my 2 years of grad school, since I took about 3/4 of the classes online - but in college I was a member of Hillel (Jewish Student's Org), and played with the school orchestra. I didn't end up dating anyone from those groups, but did meet a few nice candidates.
