She needs to stay in there. She knew exactly what she was doing. Do the crime, serve the time.

What an awful, evil person.

I hope they don't let her out - she was so selfish and ugly in her actions, it's unbelieveable.

Then she wants to blame everyone and everything else for her actions.

The total lack of personal responsibility is the key reason she should never be released. IMO

If she just randomly killed two people I'd say yeah, keep her locked up but, you know what they say, "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned" and she was that woman. If you watch the story of her life or read about it, sure, she had some issues and maybe wasn't completely in touch with reality but having a roaming husband didn't help. She went too far off the deep end. She has served her time, I don't think she would kill again but she surely would have had a lot of psychological work ups in prison.... who knows. LOL

About as excusable as this murder--which is to say it isn't.

Her sentence was 32 yrs. to life. She definately has the right to go before the parole board just like any other convicted felon.

I'm a little surprised at how unanimous most of these posts are. There are numerous accounts of Betty's life and subsequent actions that make her out to be some kind of saint for putting up with her husband's crap, and indeed one of the jurors in the first trial (which ended in a hung jury) said their first thought was: "What took her so long?"

It would be different if she killed him BEFORE any divorce. Once they divorced, they should have been out of each other's lives completely.

I realize how angry she probably was about everything - but if she had just let the philandering husband run off with his girlfriend, Betty would have been a free woman today. She let him get to her, and in the end nobody got what they wanted.

Sometimes being a woman who is allowed to walk around free is more valuable than any big house and any luxury car in the long run.

The murder seems to have been premeditated since she purchased her handgun about a month before she shot them...she also pulled the telephone from the wall to insure her ex husband could not call the police so I think she should probably spend much more time in prison. Hopefully the parole board will see things the same way.
