My vote is qualified by my experiences. In a US/Canada/EU/Aussie context I am anything goes. Other places....I dunno...a 12 year old should not be married to a 65 year old, no matter if the family finds it to be a good match
Let me qualify my answer. I was thinking adults not children. I'm ok with teens having sex with each other, but think a more than 2-3 year age difference for that group is too much.
In the long run, it does not matter--it's not my life, and I'm not involved. But a fifteen year difference is creepy to me, no matter who's older. Seems more like a parent-child relationship. In fact, my cut off, personally, is ten years. Someone in her twenties is far too young for me, and someone in her fifties is far too old.
After my FIL was widowed, a girl down the street who never gave him the time of day suddenly was in love with him. 45 years difference! Disgusting, just disgusting.
I'm sure my MIL was rolling over in her grave. Now, if he met someone close to his own age with comparable interests and who truly was interested in him, that's a different story!
So far they've discovered PittsParrots, AllentownAardvarks and ScrantonSnakes. The ASPCA is having problems finding big enough nets and cages...the plus side is, the darn things are so CUTE, with their little animal bodies and human faces, that they adopt out easily!
