I've lost a lot of faith in society and people. I don't know how people can go and break someones heart.

It really really sucks, but you're not alone in this and that is important to remember when you're feeling down. It's happened to so many of us. At least it was only 8 months instead of 13 years, and you weren't married (my experience).
You may be in a stage of grief that is considered "wallowing", but looking in from the outside, it's a bit dramatic to say you've lost faith in society/people. Things don't work out in life, you don't always gets what you want, and your heart will get broken, whether over a girl, or a job you wanted, your dog dying.
What are you doing to help yourself get past this and move forward?

When one person's feelings are so much stronger, it's just not going to work. OP, don't lose faith in society because your ex was wishy-washy and immature. There are plenty of better women.
I concur. I read the linked thread and it seems the girl was pointblank telling OP basically he freaks out on EVERY gossip everyone around him is telling about them. Honestly the OP 'loves' drama. The girl is not into drama which is pretty surprising. The girl has much MUCH better sense than the OP.
Who honestly gives a sh-it about gossip or drama really anyway? yes.... emo attention wh-ores!
Just because you're a good person doesn't mean nothing bad will ever happen to you. You got your heart broken. It sucks, but it happens to most everyone at some point. You don't lose faith in humanity over it.
Eh, **** happens. Everyone goes through this at some point in there life. Just hope you don't experience it more than once.
