At what point during the evolution process, do you suppose, we became "in God's image" and obtained a soul?
There's no such thing as evolution... there were no people on earth before Adam and Eve... and we didn't come from reptiles or any other animal. Because there are similarities in our structures, then these are the designs of our Heavenly Father.
Our souls are created in the Heavens "in God's image." Our human bodies are not in God's image... our soul is and it is encased in a spirit body which resides in our physical body... so then our spirit body contains our soul and our intellect and all of our five senses... and after we pass from this life to the spirit world... our spirit body, our soul, our intellect all go with us... and our spirit form is exactly as our human body form was when we were alive.
It's kind of weird that a soul is invisible and God is invisible and one is made in the other's :image".
Well, think of it as the wind... can we see the wind? No. We feel the effects of the wind and we can see what it does. Our Heavenly Father can't be seen with our eyes, but His Divine Love can be felt in our souls... when our soul becomes open, then we can feel it's longings and know it is inside of us.
my dogs have unconditional love for me and my family, i wonder if they are part of god's image?
mu!
Sorry. Just reminded me of that old koan "Does a dog have Buddha nature?"
In my view, your dogs are indeed reflections of the greater whole.
