    A refuge in the Southwest of England was only able to house 142 of the 490 women who were referred to them in desperate need of help;
    In a local authority with a population of over a million people, there are currently just 19 refuge spaces (Domestic Violence - Action for Change, G. Halos & E. Malos, 1993)

  • 20% of refuges have no full time staff at all;
    approximately 35% of the refuge places deemed a minimum requirement (for England) in 1975 are in existence in 1994. And recent studies have calculated that the estimated required number of refuge places should be substantially increased: the demand is almost double that recommended in the mid-seventies;
    approximately 129 volunteer hours go into running a refuge every month (Funding Refuge Services, Mog Ball, 1994)

Do you want to debate the Secular system and its advantages over theist systems, or domestic abuse which may fall under a different forum than the R&P forum?
If it the secular system the advantages over a theist system can be seen in the last 40 years of child abuse in the catholic church. A secular system would have addressed the cases on a one by one basis, and the chain of abuse would have been stopped before reaching the thousands now documented.
If it is related to abuse of one’s wife I suspect you find the foundation in the bible which gives a man the right to kill his wife for things we expect in a civilized culture.

What makes you think that the US, the most religious country on the planet, is any different?

More than 2.5 million females experience some form of violence each year. Almost two of every three of these females are attacked by a relative or person known to them.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) found in a national survey that 34 percent of adults in the United States had witnessed a man beating his wife or girlfriend and that 14 percent of women report that they have experienced violence from a husband or boyfriend.

More than 1 million women seek medical assistance each year for injuries caused by battering.

I am struggling to connect your intention for this thread with anything that followed the first sentence.

You want to connect those dots for us? maybe?

You should be aware that secular system is over 240 years old and its influence/fruits of deep decedence can be seen very clearly in both christianity and islam. This dark secular fruits are only now filtering thourgh the system and it is leaving a deep social decedence in both religious communities.

It is really nothing in comparison between today's child abuse figures to that of well known history of both christendom and the Caliphate.

No, I don't think secularism leads to darkness...Violence against women is a plague that happens everywhere, but in Islamic nations it is mandated by religion...Remember there are many Muslims living in the UK....

In Arab and Islamic countries, domestic violence is not yet considered a major concern despite its increasing frequency and serious consequences. Surveys in Egypt, Palestine, Israel and Tunisia show that at least one out of three women is beaten by her husband. The indifference to this type of violence stems from attitudes that domestic violence is a private matter and, usually, a justifiable response to misbehaviour on the part of the wife. Selective excerpts from the Koran are used to prove that men who beat their wives are following God's commandments.

SpringerLink - Journal Article

In Norway and Sweden, journalist Fjordman warns of a rape epidemic. Police Inspector Gunnar Larsen stated that the steady increase of rape-cases and the link to ethnicity are clear, unmistakable trends. Two out of three persecutions for rape in Oslo are immigrants with a non-Western background and 80 percent of the victims are Norwegian women.

In Sweden, according to translator for Jihad Watch, Ali Dashti, “Gang rapes, usually involving Muslim immigrant males and native Swedish girls, have become commonplace.” A few weeks ago she said, “Five Kurds brutally raped a 13-year-old Swedish girl.”

I am sure there is violence in muslim lands but does not certainly mean it is from the teachings of islam. It is more so of the secular influence in those socities through media, western culture, etc.

Again the violence you are speaking of is nothing in comparison to secular established socities. An ant to an elephant:

BBC - Search results for Family abuse

Pages and pages of no end in sight of fathers, brothers, even sisters and mothers abusing family members and stragners. 10 pages and more of such abuses:

BBC NEWS | UK | Wales | South East Wales | Jail for 'evil' family abuse men

Four women who were raped while children by members of their family say they can start to rebuild their lives now their abusers have been jailed.

Two brothers and their brother-in-law were jailed for for attacking and abusing the girls, aged between nine and 16, more than 20 years ago.
The judge at Cardiff Crown Court told the men they were "evil".

These links are not from recognised news media sources that adherents of principled and editorial board of governance.

Basically cheap made up sites with made up stories without any acadaima researched statistical evidence that such abuse you speaking of happens in both christinity or islam nor that it happened in christendom or the caliphate in past history.

No court rulings, no judicial judgment passed, no such epadamic you are speaking of. Shaby sources.

Jihad Watch does not fall under any recognised principled editorial board of governance therefore I would always dissmiss them as conjucted falsehood.

They could make up stories with no end in sight about anything they wish but they will never be held responsible by any principled board as to the authenticity of such reports.

It is a real indicator of pure lies and false propaganda to kick islamophobic hatered against islam and muslims.

I just checked every single report on the bbc of over 10 pages and the minority involved is like less then 1% who either been born/grew up in secular socities or it has major influence in their actions.

Here you can check it out for yorself:

I'm a little confused....it appears as if you are trying to blame secular society for the domestic violence statistics you have posted.

If this is correct, I don't see any statistics proving this in what you've provided. In order to make this type of bold statement, we would have to know the religious beliefs of each individual involved. For all we know every one of these could be religious folk who were taught by their religion that this type of behavior is OK.

Therefore, you're statment is patently false and until we have all the pertinent information we need to make this type of assessment, you haven't proved anything at all.
