Please forgive my ignorance. I keep seeing these words on the Forum and I don't know what they mean. The words are "Gnostic", "Theists", "Eloheim", and "Pretism". What do they mean?

"Gnostic",--Any early christian heresy that was considered a form of Mysticism. All of there gooks were deleted from the bible
"Theists", a Person who believes in at least one god
"Eloheim", An early Jewish name to designate G_D as the Jews believe it is forbidden to mention the name of G_D
"Pretism".The belief that all of the Prophecies in the Bible have already taken place.

The problem arises from Judaic traditions that bar the defacing or desecrating the deities name. If you write god that item, paper, papyrus, a brick in your backyard can only be disposed of in a somewhat ritualistic manner. If you can not assure that the object where the word god appears will be properly disposed then the object should not be inscribe with the word god to begin with. How this affects electronic communications is beyond me.
For several reasons. Out of respect is the main reason. Secondary I really do not like to use God and when I am using it to refer to the one deity I will use either G_D or God(swt). My preference is to use Allaah(swt).
In this case I was referring to the word Elohim, so I felt it most appropriate to use G_D. There is no way in my thinking I can relate Elohim to God.
Here I thought it was disrespectful not to call someone by their name.
I think it's seen as "disrespectful" in the sense of being "in vain." That God should not to be called/named unless you "mean it." Otherwise you're just treating God's name as an interjection or like the name of a regular Joe. You are treating it lightly, without proper respect.
