There really is no spiritual path that is more important, or effective, than the Path of Kindness...You don't have to adhere to any religious tradition, it can be practiced 24/7, the more we offer it, the happier we are, and over time, it transforms our minds, purifying selfishness, greed and anger, and helping us to develop the pure heart of love & compassion, which our World so desperately needs...

I agree! I also think that kindness ought to be done not out of religious belief but because it is the right way to act.
To be kind because it gets us out of ourselves and helps us to become better people..........
Being kind, good, has nothing to do with religion and we should not act in kind or righteous ways because of what we see we might get...
Nothing should ever be done because of some reward we see we might get...
When we act in just, kind , giving ways it makes us better people and you don't need religion to behave this way.
Being kind is not enough. You have to be tough as well.
After the Japanese attacked us on Dec. 7, 1941 and the Germans declared war against us four days later, being kind to them was not the answer. The only reasonable answer was to start killing them until they were no longer a threat.
The same thing applies to our personal lives. We should be kind to each other, but we have to be tough when people try to hurt us or take advantage of us. Don't go smacking people on the cheek, but don't "turn the other cheek" when someone smacks you.

Acting in Just ways, or acting in kind ways doesn't mean not defending yourself. But again not all wars are just, or ought to be fought.....
