How this Christian ... explains how a Christian JWR Reader found inspiration and enlightenment in her own faith through a newly published "Jewish Bible for the English reader".

hmmm. Actually its almost not surprising that its artscroll. I mean there's something in artscroll's heavy handed sentimentality that would be particulalry appealing to christians.

The only really justified Artscroll book is the siddur, and thats cause everyone else has been so remiss in publishing siddurim with english AND with abundant commentary, citations, etc.

Thankfully there is this

Amazon.com: Or Hadash: A Commentary on Siddur Sim Shalom for Shabbat and Festivals (9780916219208): Reuven Hammer: Books

So you like it? I read Hebrew but not fast enough when I am in a congregation that goes fast. So I need a transliteration at times.

I wish I could read faster!!

I go to the local conservative shul sometimes but not enough to really be familiar with the service. I like the Reform service better.
