Covering up a cross when he speaks is completely appropriate for the POTUS. According to the constitution, the federal government should not endorse religion. If there is a prominent religious icon in the background when the president speaks, it is a tacit endorsement.

Any president should cover up a cross, or a menora, or any other religious symbol when speaking officially.

Again so what if he does...Horror of horrors, what if he is a secret godless atheist?
What the hell does what he believes or doesn't believe have to do with his presidency?

Where does it say that in the Constitution? I think I know the article you're talking about and it doesn't say that at all.
