Campus Crusade for Christ is providing more than 2 million copies of "Fallen But Not Forgotten," a booklet that includes a tribute to the Rev. Mychal Judge, the fire department chaplain who died when the towers fell.

Moral Conduct: As a ministry we must evaluate the moral character of applicants in light of the biblical standards of purity. If a person has been involved in premarital sex, at least a one-year period of sexual purity is required prior to acceptance as a Campus Crusade staff member. If extramarital sex has occurred, there must be at least a two-year period of sexual purity. A past, established lifestyle of homosexuality will most likely disqualify an applicant for staff. In cases where occurrences of homosexual activity have been limited, a minimum of three years of sexual purity is required prior to acceptance as a staff member.

Am I missing something? I didn't see anything in the link about this chaplain being gay. Is that just otherwise well known?
Assuming he was, I can hardly think of a less Christ-like thing to do than to purposfully omit him from a book made in tribute to those who gave their lives so bravely in the line of duty that day, simply because of his sexual orientation. I'm sure God loved him and appreciated his sacrifice and bravery, both before September 11th, and on that fateful day.

Exactly what I thought. I think Campus Crusade can applaud someone's bravery and heroism without endorsing their entire lifestyle.
This man was a Catholic Priest. It is not confirmed that he was or was not homosexual in orientation, but there is no controvery regarding him as a priest...he took a vow of celibacy and did not falter in it. Even if you believe homosexual sex is a sin, there is no one that believes sexual orientation is. (I don't think either is within a loving, monogamous relationship, but that's another thread). Some people are so homophobic I guess they need to put down a man that was good and brought joy to many people.
If you have to Google it to know, obviously his sexual orientation wasn't the point... I agree with the others, it would be extremely un-Christian to omit him from their tribute. That would be the epitome of cold-hearted and discriminatory!
