Although there is no question that this is an issue of the powerful abusing those under their influence, it makes it very egregious that once again it is a so called man of God who perpetuates the crime.
Just like Muslim terrorist must be flushed out, and just like the Catholic priests who abused boys were flushed out, there needs to be concerted effort to ensure the abuse and defalcations by pastoral new decried loudly and often by others in the field.
Some pastors on this board are doing so, and not excusing these actions. The problem is, that just like some Muslims are denouncing their terrorist, not enough of them are making the point frequently and often.
PAL is certainly an unfortunate acronym for a program created and run by a guy who was looking for a certain kind of "pal".
It is pretty significant also that it is a semi-secularized version of Bill Gothard's program ... and of course Bill's undoing was the same misuse of authority as this guy's. Which begs the question of whether there is something inherent in the ideology that leads to this. I would nominate its heavily patriarchal leanings ... giving too much privilege to the man on top -- if you'll forgive the coincidental imagery there.
Well one thing you have proved Cupper is that the world is getting worse not better as I don't remember the world this way in many bygone years.
This kind of thing has been swept under the carpet in bygone years but thanks to the information age that doesn't work anymore. My guess is that there's as much of it going on as ever, but more reporting of it.
In that sense at least the world is a better place ... this stuff is at least out in the open and no longer deniable.

And this. Molestation victims were silenced by shame. They were told rape and molestation was their fault.
They were told "You tempted him. It is YOUR fault." Gothard STILL teaches women and girls must cover up their bodies because they are causing men to lust and sin.
These crimes have ALWAYS happened. It's naive to think this is new. Or a sign the world is worse.
You would think that the state would all people who interact with children and captive people in jails would be bonded yearly so this corruption would not happen

I don't know but keep finding more articles as it proves to me the world is getting worse, decaying day by day, the Second Coming is near, maybe not in our lifetime but soon.
