Seriously, the whole 666 thing is a bit silly. The original reference was to Nero according to the scholars. There is no reason to suppose that any contemporary figure has any relationship to this at all.

You are certainly correct about that. It's as much numerology as religion IMO.

There used to be a Highway 666 in western NM and eastern AZ, but some Christians complained about it and the signs kept disappearing, so the number was changeed to 491. It was known as the 'Highway to Hell'. (Get your kicks on Route 666!)
