What will you be doing for the Earth's birthday at 1800 on October 22nd? The date is in my diary and I will be joining many Christian literalists around the world in celebration of the earth's birthday.

Lets all rejoice in this startling and somewhat astounding discovery
Hmmmmm......the Bible was also used to calculate the exact time and day the earth would end not so long ago...... and yet here I am typing this. It's Accurate!!!

God can distress rocks to make them look older than they are. I think Ian was pulling our prawns a bit.

I will observe some roadside geology and enjoy viewing evidence of the glaciation during the Pleistocene Epoch. After all, the terminal moraine is not far from here.

I hope you're kidding. It would be painful to be in that much denial, where you would have to ignore all of science and history. You would literally have to close your eyes and ears and go "la la la" to keep all of the information about the Earth's actual age from reaching your consciousness.

And someday intelligent life may inhabit this planet, but we have to survive the ignorance of gods before that will ever happen.

Aw, this was back in 2007... I totally missed earth's 6003rd birthday. The old gal didn't age well over the last 4 years though... she looks more like 4 1/2 billion years old now.

You sir do a great disservice to you ancestors... all 7 or so million years of them.

But pretending they didn't exist really doesn't change the truth now, does it?
