Hi All,

First time posting in this section.....

The small Christian Church (Coptic, if it matters) that I attend would probably need a decade or so to save and build a church (they have the land and existing tiny church in the land) despite monthly generous contributions from members. Service personnel including the priest and two deacons are all volunteers that don’t even get paid. We have saved quite a bit of money because of that but are still short significantly for building the new church. Several of us are Engineers and architects that do the design and other stuff for free. So, we save cost there too.

Does anybody know some entity that we can ask for donations to bridge this gap? Where can one look for grant that may just put this church over the hump?

TIA

I'm going to have to say the Coptic Church in Egypt might have some gold stored somewhere.

Rich people are often greedy to make loans... Perhaps you can even target the rich and convert them and name the building after them or something to get grants from them.

Since you're looking for grants instead of loans I suggest you not build a Church and instead give whatever money you've saved up to help the poor.

See Jesus said In the Bible from Luke 6: 38..... ``Give , and it will be given to you , good measure, pressed down , and shaken together, and running over, will men give to you bosom . for with the same measure that you give with it will be measured to you again....``......... See people give to build a church , and then will continue to give to this promise to the poor and Jesus will bless the church as they give to Jesus ...... See the inbred of the Holy Spirit in Christians gives charities to build a church , and the church in turn pays Charities to help the poor ....... See some Governments know that churches and other Religious establishment pay charities to help the poor , so some government give them a portion of the income that people give Charities is tax free ..... Then other government do not recognize the charities that helps the poor and taxes the income that goes to the poor , or the government has it hands in the offering plate........ Churches of Christ are called to help the poor , by Jesus

So many churches are closing/consolidating that it seems it would make more sense to buy a building that already exists and then outfit and furnish it in the Coptic manner. Some are quite beautiful.

I just wanted to report back that we got a group of people who want to donate 1M dollar towards the building and it blew us all today when we heard the news (we were lookign to save and raise a fund may be a maximum of half a mil or even less). Out of no where these group of people came to help us. Just a miracle, if you ask me! There are people out there who really want to help, amazing. We all are still shocked .
