Here you have a group of people who worship a spiritual creation ( Satan )
that God Our Holy Father made.
Yet they do not believe God even exists, which said
He would send Satan the lost to the lake of fire.
Satan The Devil is the father of all lies, and has deceiving power
to draw people away from God Our Holy Father, and this is just one
of the ways he does it ( Satanism )
What do they not get? If the government allows one religion, it must allow all to be represented.
The whole thing is very silly. It certainly makes Atheists look bad. It is not a serious attempt to separate state and religion. I suspect we are dealing with newbie atheists and these folks can be as fanatical as the bible stompers.

Maybe not, but it does make a valid point: if one religious group wants to fight tooth-and-nail to be the 'top dog', they've got to accept that other groups will have the same right.
The state is not in the business of validating or approving a particular religious belief; the state's definition of 'religion' is purely a legal one, to establish a set of standard criteria for tax and employment purposes.
That said, I agree with you; there's a large difference between 'making a stand' and 'missing the point', and I think this falls under the latter category.

Satanists are not atheists. I haven't the slightest idea where you would get the idea that atheists would put up a statue to Satan.
We don't believe in Satan, either.
